Tidal Pointe
Tidal Pointe Along with the addition to South Pointe Park that is introduced, these pavilions add an aquatic experience never seen before in this park. Although other areas of the park have aquatic program such as a beach and a kiddie splash zone, there’s nothing like this collective program that becomes almost a waterpark. The color choices imposed on the column like forms are a nod to colorful coral specimen and act as a place for the corals to potentially regenerate. The placement of these colors has to do with sea level rise. Throughout the years sea level rise has the potential to threaten this park and its addition and it will be able to be seen as the colors “changed” or shift. The column like forms along the edge of Tidal Pointe act as wave breakers.

Project Overview
When students were challenged with the task of creating a series of pavilions for South Pointe Park, Tidal Pointe answers the challenge with a series of pavilions that build into one another to create a landscape.
Project Program
Program introduced into the project by the pavilions include both child and adult wading pools, a designated R.C. boat racing pond, boat rentals, 2 water slides, tunnels for a new snorkeling experience, and a garden area that runs parallel to the existing park. On top of this, Olympic style platform diving and lap pools were introduced into the project for sporting events alongside the other public use programs.
